Frodo Baggins

Frodo Baggins is a hobbit from the Shire. He inherits a mysterious ring from his Uncle Bilbo, who found the ring in the cave of the deranged creature Golum (formerly Smeagal.) About 50 years after his uncles disappearence at his 111th birthday party Frodo learns from Gandalf the wizard that the ring he inherited is actually a ring of power that was forged by the evil Lord Sauron to enslave Middle Earth. With the ring Sauron would have power and strength enough to rule Middle Earth. By some unimagineable freak coincidence Frodo is the one that must take the ring unseen into the hear of Lord Sauron's domain, Mount Doom, the only place it can be destroyed. It seems that Frodo, the most unlikely hero, must face the temptations of the ring and the obstacles of its master Sauron. Only then can the ring be destroyed and can Sauron die.
